I’m Donna, I am a Mammy to a beautiful three year old who loves to have adventures with me! I am in love with heritage and particularly ancient cultures. I have also just finished a Masters Degree in International Cultural Heritage Management at Durham University (still waiting for the final mark, fingers crossed!) My research here was mainly in communicating heritage to different audiences, and this is where culture for kids comes in!
I must admit my main motivation for starting this group is not only to make heritage fun but to also gain better insight into how young children can interact with heritage, explore what works, and what doesn’t work. My experience with having my daughter Jade, I think there is a need for groups like this. I also think the future of heritage lies in how our children think, feel and interact with heritage and grow up knowing about heritage.
Please join me in engaging children with heritage by having fun! 🙂
