Dinosaur Adventures was the first of our summer events at Pelton Community Centre… and possibly my favourite! We had 69 children (and their parents) attend! We had to turn people away, I had no idea the event would be so popular but so so happy it was 🙂 🙂 🙂
The biggest hit was the ‘ice dinosaurs’ activity…. we bought a tuff spot especially for this and now I don’t know what I did without one!
The children were given salt water sprays to help melt the ice and hatch the dinosaurs, and tools to help excavate!
The children made dinosaur tracks, printing toy dinosaur feet on large pieces of paper:
I made lots of playdoh to play dino world 🙂
The Mini-Explorers made salt dough fossils by pushing toy dinosaurs into the salt dough mixture. They then took their creations home to air dry or to dry out in the oven. Mine was slightly ‘overcooked’ ha! But I think it looked more realistic being a bit burnt 🙂 🙂
The mini-explorers made dino skeletons with black paper, cotton buds and PVA glue:
I set up a reading cave with lots of dino stories for chill out time:
I made a huge cardboard dinosaur for the children to dress up in… and of course…. balloon dinosaur eggs!
Thanks for reading!
